Iktomi had formerly been Ksa (Wisdom). He had been sad because people often made fun of him for his strange shape. He tried to do good, but no one seemed to appreciate him. So he found ways to change his appearance and make others look foolish so that no one would have a chance to laugh at him. When Skan found out about this, he commanded that Ksa would no longer be a Tunkasila, but henceforth be known as Iktomi, the trickster. He would live alone, with no home, and be shunned by all.
